Any tips on fishing Lake Tahoe from a kayak without trolling? Here for a few more days.

That's pretty much it. I like 3oz lazer minnows in rainbow trout color.

That's pretty much it. I like 3oz lazer minnows in rainbow trout color.

What they said, for Mackinaw anyway. 

I'm guessing the Kokanee bite up there should start soon, if not already underway. 
Fish laugh when I paddle by.  Sometimes they laugh so hard they fall on my hook.

Party boats use a gibbs minow with a dead or live minnow below on a long double pointed hook. jig on bottom.

you need a fishfinder.  it helps significantly.

What he said, CAPITALIZED with exclamation marks!!!!  A fishfinder is required on Tahoe as most of it is fishless.  You could probably get by without one if you were top-lining near a rocky shore, but if you are going deep for Macks and Kokes, you need the FF.
