Planning on going to Baja for a couple months. Although it's a spearfishing trip I realized it would be stupid not to take a pole and I don't have one.

Hoping to get one pole I can use for ocean/lings/sturgeon.

Will a shorter thick strong pole and say a shimano tekota reel with some braid work for big pelagics too? Or do I need some huge fancy set up for fish that size?

Thanks.

Should be good to go up thru Dorado & Sailfish with that setup.
