NOAA is calling for 5 to 15k for Pt. Arena...with the weather going down in the afternoon...that is Cape Mendocino to Pt Arena.   Should have a little room for error, so I will be fishing around and behind the bouy, inside, where ever it is fishable. Will try to dive around noon, probably on the inside/north.
Slow bite last week...but have to go! Gold Dodge Caravan/yellow Hobie Outback. Should have line in the water early, 7:00am....endurance fisherman, will go until at least 2:00, maybe longer. Good beer after, at the picnic table... Ron

I'd join ya but I gotta work, good luck and be safe
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

fish report for yesterday, 5/30, at Pt. Arena. Long day! Lines in by 7:30am...slow again! Fished until about 2:30pm straight...no diving. There was a bigger swell on shore, and the visibility was about 10 feet. Could have dove inside but was two lazy.
Total score was about 4 small rock fish-gopher/china/vermillion...all small-1 to 2 pounds, all released. About 6 undersized lings...two caught on watermelon apex. Drift was south to north, so when I headed back south I trolled...looking for a miracle salmon. 5 legal lings, 22 to 26 inches...kept two. About 5 cabezons...four babies and one about 18 inches that I kept.
Once again I threw everything at them, swim baits, scampies, everything in the box...all topped with squid. White, root beer, green...EVERYTHING! White was best...it was overcast. Did not see any other kayaks. Great beer after, and a few cool people at the picnic tables.
Saw a few kayakers at Stillwater getting ready to head out, but not many folks on the water. Ready for salmon and better rock fish! Ron
