Dumbarton Saturday 2/24/07

Will head back to the South Bay to continue my hunt for Dino's this Saturday. Company welcome will do some scouting today and see if I can launch closer to marker 18, Will be on the water as close to 0700 hrs. as I can. Ch 69 Frank

Hey Frank,
 I cashed in some WAF and I'll be there to assist you landing that dino! I'll have to improvise an anchor release system or just pedal in place for a few hours.  Where are you gonna launch from? Since the Dumbarton is hitting recently I guess there huh? PM me the specifics.

Good idea Rider123 and I also suggest at least a 6 lb anchor (min.) the current in that area is very quick once it gets going. Also I use 60' of rope on my yak but I also carry 40' and 30' just in case. If you can't get your anchor system in do not chance it although it is the bay it is not an area to find yourself adrift in the water.
 I have had minimal success in hooking a sturg from my yak, but with that said the one I did hook was under limit and still gave me a fun tow. From the sounds of it you have found the south bay honey hole and if you need any help setting up your yak do not hesitate to call. We aren't that far from eachother.

Talked to ride123 and got the skinny on Redwood so Z and I will try tomorrow at 0630hrs. meeting off of Woodside Rd. and 101. Ride123 doesn't have his anchor together yet so he passed on tomorrow but thanks Dave on the intel. My lips are sealed :} Frank
