Hey guys and gals. Just a few questions in regard to setting for the ocean. The last couple of outing, I have been messing around with the setting on the lowrance (I have the Elite 5 chirp). For freshwater, I have it dial in but for some reason the ocean is a tad different.

For one, I notice in the fishing mode ie freshwater, shallow, general, deep, etc...I tried deep water, brackish water, and general. All looked different.

In the ocean, I notice I don't really get much arch as compare to freshwater.

Here is what I have been using:
ping speed = normal since I'm stationary
frequency = high/med chirp

everything else is default. I go between sonar and split screen of sonar/downscan.

The first picture one is in deep fishing mode.
Can you describe the 2nd one. I'm assuming its bait fish, actually crab in the 40 feet down. Not sure what the 3rd pic is.

Let me know what kind of setting you are using :) Any tip is appreciate. Thanks.

Ping normal to slow.  In ocean, usually go with 'general'.  Should be enough to get you started.  The third picture looks like a school of paint or small Rd chasing something up the water column.
