I just saw yur post.  I'd love to go, but I don't think I can afford it.  I just paid for the June trip and WAF is bottoming out.  How much is this one? Is it still open?

I talked to my friend who's working down in Santa Barbara now and going this weekend also. He went out last week or so and they dove the front of Cruz. Cleaned up on toads! Let's do launch...

What's a good gun for those trips when the WSB are around?  If I had the firepower I'd be more motivated. 

IMHO ~60" 3 band gun. I use a Riffe metal tech 5; was trying to buy the 4 but they were late on shipping and gave me the 5 for same price at Blue Water Hunter in Santa Barbara. Glad it worked out that way. You might be able to get them with a smaller gun but everyone I saw on the Peace from SoCal was using a big gun. Doesn't have to be a $$$$ Riffe; big Euro guns will work. My 1st fish was a 15' swim-by shot.

Granite, I want to go but I just can't swing it right now.  I still have to buy a bigger gun.  Keep me posted for your next run.

I guess I'll look into a 110 or 120 eurogun for now.  If I got something bigger I wouldn't have much opportunity to practice with it locally.

I got a 115 cm Aimrite aluminum for exactly the same reason. I will practice on local anchovies this summer!

I practiced with mine in Monterey.
IMO, a 48" gun will be good for wounding WSB. Good size for halibut or clear water rockfish, calicos, though.
