Will be hitting the port tomorrow to try and get on the striper bite, hope to be launching around 7. Ill be in a lime green Ascend FS12T and my buddy will be in his olive Outback.

Dont have a radio yet but feel free to stop and say hi if you see us out there.

First time at the port in a kayak so hoping we can get into some fish. gonna try trolling an Alabama rig and throwing swim baits. Will probably soak some dines too.

Will post a report afterward.

Went out to the port this morning. Perfect weather and good fishing. Caught this 22 incher on the Alabama rig! Good luck! Looking forward to hearing the report!

Well it looks like you guys did better than we did.
Launched at about 7:30 and started out trolling the alabama rig. Trolled all the way around the lake and up to the cement dock for nada. decided to soak some sardines near the mouth of the lake  for more nada. While i was soaking bait, my buddy trolled all the way down to the fertilizer dock, on his way back he picked up one shaker on a shadrap. Trolled around a bit more for nothing else. off the water by 2:30

All in all it was a nice day to be on the water it was a little warm and a couple more fish would have been nice... :smt012

I guess i will need to make a few more trips out there to get the pattern down and be more successful. I've heard that the port can take some time to learn.

what kind of alabama rig were you using Brenden (if you dont mind me asking) were you trolling it or casting?

Next time, I am trolling a big dodger and clouser minnow. I used to do that six years ago, and had steady action out there. Big water with HUGE dead areas, I figure it is all about vibration.....and watching the birds of course.

Went out again today for a couple hours. Trolled the umbrella rig. (I use the 5 arm YUM rig with the silver blades). I caught one 16 inch fish and missed a few good fish. Overall it was a good day!
