'Threadjacking' gets my vote!!  Sounds much more offensive and the idea of any kind of tailgating without beer is downright scary.  As far as my response to initial etiquette infraction- no worries and I appreciate the welcome replies and humorous comments.  ( also note the change of my username -- figured it was appropriate)  Looking forward to picking up more local knowledge of this fishery.
Thanks
John

So, think I need a tutorial on using this site... never had much use for blogging.  Anyway, someone asked me where from? -- Originally Ithaca NY, but have moved all over up and down NE from Virgina to Vermont.

Anyway, picking up a Revolution 16 end of this week.  Anyone fancy themselves to be a real rigging expert??  I have no doubts all the information I could possibly need and then some,  is somewhere on this site but would prefer to save myself the time of trying to figure it out for myself.  Any and all advice, assistance or direction much appreciated and since it seems there are a fair number of beer lovers on here Id be happy to pay for advice with chilly ones!  ( no nasty IPA's either if they offend you! )

Thanks
John

Didn't' read the whole thread, but was it a joke on your name?  :smt044  Either way, welcome to the madness!  And you know what they say about opinions... They are like A-Hulls!  :smt005  Watch out for "thoes" guys hahaha.  Congrats on your Hobie!  Get out and try it first before making any rigging decisions.

If you can't find it by searching then you are best to ask the question on a separate post. Just title it with your question. You'll get more responses that way both good and bad  :smt001

Welcome to the club!

There are rigging experts, but I am not one of them.  However, I WILL make holes in YOUR boat without hesitation if you offer me a beer that is even remotely cold.

Actually, there is piles of info buried in the forum, and you will quickly get a reputation as a lazy sod if you don't look there first before you ask.  I know this, because it happened to me!

The advice that everyone gives is - use the boat a few times before you do any mods or rigging to get an idea of how you use the boat.  Go fishing with others from this board to see their boats, and how they fish, and how they've rigged.

The only rigging up you need to do immediately....

1) Get the Wheeleez cart.
2) Find a way to get the boat on top of your car/truck.  Hobies have a flat deck and are mostly designed to travel upside down.
3) Get proper safety gear - PFD, and wetsuit and/or dry gear.

Seriously, don't worry about doing anything else to your boat yet.  What I ended up with today (4 months in) is far different from what I imagined I would do when I started.

Cheers!
Fish laugh when I paddle by.  Sometimes they laugh so hard they fall on my hook.
