I hit the Russian this morning for about 2 1/2 hours. I had one good hook-up and fought the steelhead for about 2 minutes before she came off. Hitting the river today wasn't in my plans, but after a call from Sean with a water level report, I couldn't pass it up.

The water was high and the color and clarity wasn't too bad. I could see the bottom when the water was about a foot deep.

There was a drift boat working just down from me and he said he wasn't having any luck. I'll hit it again tomorrow morning, then it's off to Fort Bragg to do some surf perching.

CHEERS!

Atta' boy! I drove by the Rushin' today and it looked to be greening up. I saw some trucks parked between Hopland and Cloverdale. I couldn't fish though.
I'm hitting the Eel in Leggett tomorrow, let you guys know how it looks. I can't wait, haven't fished in almost 3 weeks  :smt010.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
