Hi all, my intention was not to flame on anyone.I have removed the posts in question in response to respectful editing and good points made by the crew.In the future, if I have a problem with someone's post I will PM them directly.

For those of you that didn't make it out to Not-So-Secret beach due to the weather...Alien and I ground out three keeper barred perch each, with Alien catching the largest...a 12 incher.The weather was pretty sloppy with intermittent showers and cloudy skies.Despite a bit more debris stirred up by the recent storm, the water remained pretty clear and the swell actually dropped some since Weds.The tide change was minimal so we had to cover quite a bit of beach to find holes and edges of rips that held fish.The harbor seals were out again in force and we saw an otter and a baby sea lion taking a rest from the storm on the beach.

We had fun catching a few, but I think the best part of the trip was getting out of my soggy clothes and taking a nice hot shower

Hey Aaron/Alien, good to hear you got some keepers. Good to hear the weather wasn't too bad. Sounds like the weather is worse here in the Bay Area. It's been raining non-stop since I woke up ths morning.

I'm pretty new to perchin' and have a question about grub sizes. I heard a few say they were using 2 inch grubs. Does that include the tail of the grub or just the body? I have some nice 2 1/2" grubs (w/tail) but thought they might be on the big side since Perch are pretty small. What do you guys think?

Z, I've had better luck with the 1.5" and 2" grubs and I think alien was using a 1.5" grub when he landed that slab today.You might get a large perch or striper that are rumored to be around on a larger grub, but you will probably get bit more on a smaller grub.Perch have pretty small mouths.I think the length is the entire grub (tail included).

I live less than a mile from Manresa and would love to join you some time, but I have plans tomorrow.If the swell doesn't get too much bigger tomorrow should be OK at Manresa.I would get there an hour or so before the peak of high tide if you can.

well, I wish I had gone but I did not end up getting much sleep last night,

The swell is supposed to be twice as big tomorrow so I think you can enjoy
the rain tomorrow and feel good about getting out today!

EDIT: Thought I was doing the "very limited" population of perch fishermen on this particular website a favor by sharing some info. Obviously, I wouldn't post such detailed info on PFIC of FS or whatever other site you can think of. This site is different; the members are very knowledgeable and respectful. And thats is why I thought it would be nice to share (considering I've lived right here for so long and I've fished every sandy beach between SC and Big Sur). Also remember, this forum isn't viewable unless you register and get an account (unlike other sites). However, I will respect members' opinions that some info shouldn't be shared. And that is why I edited my post.

Dunno, the swell forecast looks to be around 10 feet at Manresa tomorrow. Do you think it's worth it when the surf is that big?
