Not much to report besides my frustration.

I launched from Chucks beach just before 8am, armed with some fat ghosties and a few herring.  Not sure what to expect weather-wise, I didn't paddle too far, and anchored up next to what looked like a nice hole near the ferry.  A bit on the windy side, which made for a bumpy ride, but things settled down after awhile and the water laid down.

For the rest of the outgoing, I got no love.  Normally this wouldn't bother me, but this day it did.  I was marking sturgeon moving past me, and throughout the day counted no less than eight jumpers, a couple within 30 feet or so of me.

I had planned on fishing through the tide change and giving it my best effort till 4 or so, but after that last sturgeon danced across the water right in front of me, I paddled back in in disgust at 2.

While packing up the car, a guy who'd been fishing from shore walked down to talk.  He saw the fish jumping too, and said, "Duuude, we thought for sure you were gonna hook up!"  After that I'd had enough chitchat, wished him luck and split.

I hate sturgeon.  I feel sorry for the one I finally catch, I'm gonna pound the hell out of it.  I may even start bringing a framing hammer out with me instead of the fish-be-good stick.

At least the weather turned out pretty nice.

Hang in there Nate... it will happen. I'm starting to feel your pain too. Not quite as bad as Chuckster though... (Sorry Chuck... but, it'll happen for you too... sooner or later... I hope.)

Wow... sounds like they were really toying with ya out there.

Here's a slide from my sturgeon presentation that I think fits the moment.  Remember the old 70's TV show "Kung Fu" with David Caradine?
