Happy Easter to NCKA

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Easter.  For those that don't believe in God I am not trying to offend and offer you a happy Sunday. 

Took the grandkids (still hard to believe I am a grandfather) to see the Easter bunny yesterday in Ft Bragg and had a great time. 

I woke up wanting to go diving but aggravated an old arm injury and was unable to use my right arm.  It's been hit and miss with good and bad days.  It's so difficult trying to accomplish basic tasks when they hurt so much.  I have two arm braces keeping movement to a minimum but hope it lets up soon. 

I do have a shark shield and pray it works.  If it doesn't and a shark approaches with enough time for me to react would it be wrong to sacrifice my bad arm to save the good limbs or is my pain affecting my thoughts. 

Many have it worse so I am trying to stay positive and will pray for others who need it.  The carrot next to Easter bunny is a local child name Nick who has Cancer and has been through numerous operations and has been sick and in the hospital much of his life.  The wife and I have become bone marrow donors and help support him and his family when we can.  The community came out yesterday and really supported him and his family.  The shirt in the picture they made to support him and others with Cancer.  My pain seems like a prick with a thorn compared to what he has gone through and I will pray for a miracle for him before me any day.

Happy Easter!

I don't think you offend many non-Christians by wishing them a happy Easter. I can only speak for myself, but religious celebrations are interesting, fun, and a good excuse to get together with family and friends. Even us non-believers find value in the stories and lessons of virtuous characters such as Jesus.

Marrow donors?! It doesn't get much more selfless than that. What a gracious gift.

The "war on (insert Christian holiday here)" is largely a fabrication  designed to get people flustered, so that they watch more TV and are thus more likely buy Duff beer.

Happy Easter D.G.    and to all the NCKA Family. I to was thinking of all the people on here who have had injuries recent and past . Hope everyone has a speedy recovery and work on the rehab as I am doing as well. I to am still working on shoulder problems as well from my accident. I purchased a set of work out bands from walmart with three strengths. Have to say it is a great investment. Gone are the days of huffing and puffing on the weight bench pounding some iron. .  . I am actually starting to like my weight bands . They have really helped in the progress of rehab in my shoulders and arms and they are inexpensive and can be taken anywhere.

Anywho !

  Easter to me is a day to share time with are Family and especially the children and Reflect on the ones we have lost . 

Whether you believe in the Bible or not. There are a lot of Great values to be learned from it. There is so much disrespect and antisocial behavior in our world it seems troubling at times. Ok. Off the soap box.

I believe and celebrate with you in the hope and freedom we have!  Glory to God for your post, I do not know you but I know I have another brother in Christ.  Peace and rest to you, and healing bones, joints, and frustrations as well.

Thanks for sharing Nick's story....it's fights like his that keep me humble and remind me to be grateful for everything I have...who cares how big your fish is or what kind of fish you find in the big picture...family, friends, health, community are way more important and are things we can work on every single day.
