I've got a buddy who has a Hobie Outback witha rudder system and he needs to put a drift anchor set-up on the back. Does anyone already have one that they can post a photo of????

No, but have your buddy post a few pics of the back of the kayak and I am sure he will get some ideas from others.
Being the welding mad man Dan, I am sure you will be able to help him out a great deal.

I don't see a boat with a rudder being compatible with a drift anchor.  Also that guy hasn't even been in that boat but a few days...he is not ready IMHO to do the river thing...he needs a LOT more experience.

if somebody had the experience, one way to go would be run the anchor off the bow.

true, you have to sit backwards on the yak, but I have often sat backwards on the raised
area ahead of the seat and fished off the stern.

It doesn't necessarily need to be used for the river. I think we all used ours at Clear Lake when the wind picked up a bit just to hold a position to cast in a certain location. Just pick it up a little, move a few feet and drop again. Worked great.

Good point.  For just holding in place he'd be fine, just not sure how to work around the rudder.
