Are there any recommendations for fishing Lake Sonoma for trout & steelhead?  On many websites, both of those species aren't even listed.

Thanks in advance.

I like to fish the rainbows in the Fall. This last Fall was a letdown, maybe Spring will be better? The main lake is just greening up. I myself would wait for the water to clear up then run my down rigger at various depths till I find them. I like to troll mini plugs and tiny flukes, stuff that looks like a thread fin shad.
Sometimes, especially early in the day, you can get them by top lining. I use #4 and #6 test line.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

If the water is clear like I like it to be I don't use any flashers. I don't like dealing with them and have enough success without them.

The hot wings flashers are pretty awesome. I grew up using Luhr Jensen School o' Minnows and even invested in a bunch not too long ago. But then I found these lightweight flashy hot wings and I was hooked. They spin under the slowest of speeds which is great because any of the aluminum flashers require a good clip to be spinning.
