scott, you lost me about maybe the third smiley!

marmot, the whitespace is helping. I get through at least the second sentence now before my eyes glaze over!

Well, I guess we will get some kind of fancy 3D imaging eventually, but I do have to say that your basic sonar unit
definitely helps you find the fish, I have been amazed with the results from my $90 unit.

It is funny on the Long Range Boats they have million dollar gadgets. But, they want us the fisherman to tell them when we see a single Albatross looking fishy.  Because the birds do this thing to eat and live.

Scott,

Sorry about the repost of you link.  I didn't notice your post and had found that link on my own a few months ago.   I'll try to be more careful.

I have this one without the GPS. You can switch from a 20 deg cone angle to a 60 deg cone angle. I like it so far.

Hi Brian,

I meant my "Irony" post to be tongue in cheek. If you interpreted it in any way other than that, then it is I who owe you an apology. I just found it funny that you almost simultaneously posted the "howto" URL, and duped my post.

I'll see you next season, I'd imagine. I've got my wife sold on the idea of taking a long weekend for Elk, so James will get to meet Owen, assuming your whole family will be there again.

Regards,
Scott

While at the sportsmans expo, my fishing buddy Dan pointed out his new Side scan equipped sonar at one of the electronic booths.  The display was insane!  I guess the price tag was as well, but he uses it often.
