Hello guys/gals,
I am heading up to the Blue Lakes above Clear Lake this week for a few days.  I understand that there are bass and trout in the lake.  I have been there one time for a hour or so, just to see where it was.  Anybody have any suggestions on where to fish, or for trout do I just troll the lake.  I see that the lake was scheduled for a trout plant today, so I'm guessing it should be good.  I will just fish the points and drop-offs for bass.
Thanks.

Trout are very easy to catch right after they stock, the Bass whoever in a different story... the water is really clear so the scare very easy. if I am going to fish for bass I go to the other lake, some folks call it mud lake.

There's some big bass in there. I've seen them with my own eyes. Hooking them is difficult, though the smaller ones are easy enough on a dropshot rig fished fairly deep. Be prepared to lose dropshot gear due to all the snags.
I've wanted to do mud lake but can't figure out a launch for it. Sarge?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Dodger and a worm toplined around the lake will get the trout for sure. If there are not too many bank fishers...trolling through the narrows can produce some nice fish. As you head west through the narrows there will be a drop off just as you enter the western half of lake, fish like to sit here. The cove to the south once you go through narrows also holds trout often.  Good luck! Oh and if you feel like casting, cant go wrong with a blue and silver castmaster tipped with a piece of nightcrawler.
