I'm thinking of buying an Extrasport Osprey PFD. Has anybody else used this PFD? Any pro's or con's?
I definitely like to have a little storage on my vest because I also use it when surf fishng.
But, although I haven't bought my first kayak yet, I hope to soon (perhaps with my tax return!), and I don't want to have to buy another vest. What do you think?

I have one and love all the little pockets. I keep hooks and swivels etc... in them. I've always been a fan of the extrasport vest but this one lacks a rib cinch line and no hydo pack fastener loops on the back. I'd also pay a little more for some sewn in reflective tape. It snugs up tight though and floats me at 205. Good vest for not having to drag and stow tackle around just watch that you don't sink to the bottom if you fall over

Thats what I like about it tote, it has a Baja style mesh back with high floatation. I use a half back seat and the combo is quite comfy

It sounds like a good PFD swell! Have you been in the water with it? I weigh about 180 lbs and the vest is listed as having 15.8lbs flotation, which is pretty good. If you have been in the water with it, did it feel like good flotation, or was the 15.8 lbs a little optomistic? Thanks for letting me bug you with my questions!

I've been in the water here in humboldt bay with it in mild current and it floated me at 205 lbs. I like the floatation in my extrasport retroglide sabre better. They osprey will float you if you need it and the the arms are cut so you can swim with the vest on. I think all the manufacturers probably have a fishing pfd in R&D right now but Extrasport always leads the pack. Drop me a pm if your interested in the vest. I give discounts to ncka'ers

Hmmm ... the Baja Back on the Osprey is not a full mesh as far as I can tell.  It does have a thinner lower back.  The Sabre has a full back.  I like the Solstice, which has a true mesh back.  I have both the Sabre and the Solstice and always reach for the Solstice when heading out.  I find it way more comfortable with a high back seat.
