how did you secure your cooler ? bolts or rivets? and seal the holes

I would like to know the steps taken to secure your ice chest to the kayak.Bolts,rivets or what. And when you drilled through the cooler the steps you took to keep it insulated.

Leave the cooler intact.
Rivet some pad eyes to the kayak.
Use bungee to secure the cooler/milkcrate/plano box/ whatever down.
Put some goop on the rivets as you place it into the hole you drill.

No sense in screwing up a perfectly good cooler.
Pop holes in the $1000 kayak.

I wrap a strap on mime for freshwater.  See the white Igloo Playmate.  I use a game clip for saltwater or bigger fish.

Pad eyes and tank straps.
