What is the best way to fix a broken screen? Is the face plate replaceable or should I just goop the hell out of it?? I've had this radio for approximately 5+ years maybe and still works like the first day I bought it. It is an ICOM M-72.

Is it just the plastic covering that is cracked, or is the LCD cracked? That radio is no longer submersible!

Get a can of Weld-On #3 or #4.

I have a can of Weld-On #3 you can use.

Right On, Tim!! I'll let you know when Im available for the next hookup. Do you think it''ll be submersible worthy after the application? Or just good for occassional splashes?

The Weld-On is a solvent adhesive, so it should seal the crack. It will definitely hold up to splashes. Not sure about prolong submersion.

Over the years I've been amazed at the parts and verbal help available for stuff by contacting the manufacturer,

Probably a real long shot but,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Screen covers are usually only sold as an integrated part of the front face plate / case assembly.  If you can get just the cover you are likely to fracture the case getting it off. I've done it on more durable and expensive units $3K - $4K, but it was a PITA.

I have the same issue with a S.H. radio, called customer support and they said they can fix for $89, but I only paid $99 new. Guess it will be a back up now
