I have a phenix m1 XH X- Fast 1-6 oz. casting rod for punching, a phenix M1 MH Fast 1/4 -3/4 oz casting rod for general purpose, and a Phenix Maxim M Fast 1/8 - 3/4 oz Spinning for finesse. Are the latter two too similar? They don't feel terribly different. I was thinking of maybe down grading the spinning real to a ML or L 1/8-1/2 oz (or maybe 3/8 oz). Or shall I upgrade the MH casting to a H (1/2-1 1/4 oz)? Or should I just buy another rod to bridge the gap between the light cast and the meat stick? Thanks!

i say fish em first before deciding.  I think your set up sounds fine, even for finesse.  you don't necessarily need to move down to a ML for finesse - you mean dartheads and texas rigging I presume?

Yeah and drop shotting. I was just worried that my MH casting set up and M spinning set up were too similar (i.e. they overlap too much) and that perhaps I should take one back to either upgrade or downgrade to fill in the gaps better so that I  cover the entire spectrum. I'm looking mostly at lure weights that each rod accommodates. I've never taken rod selection this seriously before so I'm needing help with it. I am a student so im trying to keep it to like 3 rod setups. Maybe four.

I think having a light spinning setup is very useful for casting light baits long distances.  I think a ML would be useful for you but don't know if I would consider it a needed change from the M.  Just the fact that one is a spinning and one is a casting makes me think they are different enough, as they won't generally have the same purpose just from the reel type.  I think a ML would work great for you as a finesse rod, but wouldn't be a significant difference from your M, so if there's a cost involved I wouldn't make the switch.  That being said, if there's no cost involved it might be good for you to go to the store and pull on the rods.

I like a ML for drop shot and trolling for trout

Selection of rods used while kayak fishing is almost the same as power boat fishing except, most people here will recommend a 7' -8' rod so you can get line around the bow should a fish or your drift require you to do so. Lack of space on a kayak typically limits you to two maybe three rods, so that may solve some of your "problem".
While your post references Bass fishing, kayak fishing, especially kayak ocean fishing, is very hard on gear.  You may want to hold off on using the expensive gear until you get used to a kayak as a fishing platform.

I've got a setup for almost every application for lmb.7'-7'11' from ml to heavy.the rods I use the most are med,mh 7' in casting and spinning
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Looking at the weight rating for the spinning rod (1/8-3/4) makes me think it is a bit on the heavy side for finesse applications. I prefer to have a rod rated for 1/8-3/8 for finesse bass fishing.

That's what I thought but would that be effective for shakes and darter heads? The only rod action that was that light was a L action rod.

I use a 7' shimano crucial (old model)paired with a daiwa pixy type r spooled with 10# p line.i use this rod for all my finesse application when I don't want to haul around six rods.but when I go super finesse I use a 7' steez rod ml paired with a daiwa certate spooled with 8# p line spinning.and yes if your wondering I'm a big fan of p line(cxx) in moss green.

I've been using this http://m.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=33262206 that I picked up on sale for a very reasonable price.
Med power with a soft enough tip to throw light lures. Plenty of backbone for hook sets. Spooled with 8lb cxx (I too love that stuff!) and a shimano 2500 sized reel.
