We did that with brand new boats all the time (18-26').  Never get's any less tense.

When I drove a towtruck in the Discovery Bay area, I would occasionally show up to a scene where the trailer left the truck, and the boat left the trailer, and at the end of a big white stripe on the asphalt you would find the boat... Got to be pretty good dead-lifting those with the boom of a towtruck and nylon straps, you just extend the boom over the boat, cradle it with the straps, lift, and walk the trailer under it. If you have any access to a towtruck, it's safe and fast.

That beats jacks and cribbing!

Set the boat on two bales of straw and winch it onto the trailer .
