I  trolled/drifted for halibut starting at about 630am- didn't get anything. the conditions were good given the day. the water was clear and was smooth for the first two hundred yards from shore but lacking bait.

if you want to fish in south winds this is a great spot with a super short and waveless launch near the ft point pier. it drops off to about 20 feet just 50 feet off of the sand. often you can see boats like the huck finn back in at the crissy field pines trees or in front of st francis. looking from shore you'd think they would run aground but its amazing how fast is drops off. they do really well in here when the halis are in... too bad the fish weren't there today...
