Just finished this project and wanted to share in case anyone else is trying to figure out how to store and/or transport one of these behemoths!

Very cool and very innovative.only thing I'd be a little concern about is you might want to use the same application of the pvc pipes on the platform for when your storing it . over time you'll probably get flat spots in the bottom of your hull.otherwise very resourceful
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Thanks for the suggestion, Mienboy! This would be simple to retrofit. Question: I would imagine the 3" PVC will also deform the hull where the weight rest in time. Do you think the deformation would be more or less egregious from resting flat on the ground vs. up on the PVC?

I think if you mount pvc pipes on the platform it should be fine.ive heard people were getting flat spots on the bottom when they left it on a flat surface.

I use to just leave mine on the trailer and my setup was like yours.and the few times I left it on the ground I used 8" foam blocks.the same material that hobie uses inside the hull.

The pipes I used were just the regular white pipes and I noticed that they flex slightly when I put the yak up on it.but it seems that everyone with a trailer keeps and stores the yak on the pipes.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

That's a great way to utilize your car port. Your video is well done too.
