Has or does anyone store their kayak at pier 40 (citykayak) near the ball park?

I'm looking to get a kayak but don't have space to store it in my tiny apartment. Anyone have any experience with the service at citykayak?

I spoke with a lady who keeps an AI there right next to the Java house. She says she has had no issues. She takes the sail and  drive with her but uses a cable lock for the boat and akas/amas. I have my big boat at South Beach and will say that the P40 parking lot has some very sketchy characters hanging around at night. I have seen plenty of evidence of car break ins.

For some reason, I thought they close it down during winter but I don't see anything like that on their site. Maybe that was years ago...

Looks like a decent option if access is suitable. Let us know how it works out if you go that route. There are virtually no inexpensive regular storage units in the city.

Launch access is great there on the north side of P40 where the bay charters leave. You will have to pay to park though?

Parking isn't an issue, I'll be taking an uber to the spot. My main concern is security / storage at the dock and also are there good fishing spots within paddling distance from pier 40? Also preferable if any of you fellow anglers are willing to hookup from there to show a noob the ropes. I've searched the hookups section and looks like a lot of people hookup out of hmb or the north bay, but not that much out of SF proper.

Damn I'm glad I moved out of SF. The car parking was enough of a hassle. Never had to think about kayak storage when I lived there.
Maybe renting one would be a better option and provide more flexibility.

Good luck and welcome

Inside the Bay off SF, I'd say you had a shot at stripers or maybe halibut near Marina Green/Crissy Field. Then skip down to the Brisbane Tubes/Oyster Point for more of the same. Sharks are also an option too. Pay close attention to the tide table/currents because they rip through the Bay. And... throw back any glowing fish.  :smt003
