I just got an Ultra 4.3 and realized I won't be able to transport it upside down on padded bars like I did for my trident 13 because the center hatch on the 4.3 is the tallest point on the top of the front half of the cockpit so it doesn't rest right upside down on bars.

I tried a few different saddles for my trident 13 and all of them caused bad oil canning and then I realized I didn't need saddles anyway for the T13, but that experience has made me wary of saddles and I don't want to buy and return a bunch of different saddles trying to find one that is compatible with the Ultra 4.3 so I was hoping someone here might have some experience to lend. Your personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

I transport my Ultra 4.7 upside-down on the crossbars. It helps if you can adjust the spacing between the crossbars. There is a lip in front of the transducer scupper that sticks up. I place that part on the front crossbar (of my car). I drew arrows pointing to it on the picture below.

upside down with front crossbar on front portion of center hatch.  never had a problem.  i even asked OK, and they said it was fine with some bar padding.

i find it easier to load my ultra compared to outback.
