that was my reaction exactly. An army of deck hands has already arrived, mostly from Alaska. They're all walking around with 100 yard stares and jobless. My fishing partner sank $200 000 into a permit and new gear and worked on it for a month and a half. I spent the money I made on salmon setting my boat for crab. We're all screwed.
The cherry on top is that the buyer's told me today that they only have half the squid they had last year for bait and no sardines... I wonder wether I can pay the bills catching hook and line sand dabs?!
