I didn't date this one thinking that I would keep reporting as time goes by. Feel free to add to it as well.

I started out around noon. Tide was high and just starting to go out.
I hit the rockpile for a few passes, but the wind was blowing pretty hard and I would only get one or two casts before I was on the bank. A few hits, but nothing major. I headed towards Guisty's and found a nice tree to post up under.
I ung out and had lunch. Nice in the shade with the water all lit up under me. Put a piece of worm on a jig and chilled for a while. Caught 3 nice bluegill, one little guy, and a decent smallmouth.
Headed back to the rocks and worked the weeds up to the log and back too many times to count. The wind sucked. I had a drift sock I made out of a leg from some old BDU's and it helped slow the roll a bit, but 20 minutes of paddling would only get me 5 minutes of fishing before I was back where I started. Hooked up two more smallies in the 14" range on a spook at the north end of the rocks.
The sun was getting low so I headed back to the docks. Threw the spook a bunch out front and had a few good hits of a big largie, but couldn't get him. There is a monster lurking under the dock by the launch. Lots of action over by the pump too.

Please post your wimpy's adventures here too. It's my "home base" so I want to hear any news.

Thanks!
Happy fishing!

Ahh yes the monster under the docks. Iv raised that fish a handful of times but she is smart and won't commit. They would destroy the smolts dropped at the launch this spring.

Thanks for the report Chris.

Chris,

Wimpy's is very close to where I live too, but I haven't been there much at all this year.  Caught a big striper there last year, the one in my picture.  If you want to jig for salmon some time soon I would be willing to meet ya there on any given weekend.

There was a fire out there some time earlier this year.  Did it affect the marina?
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Wimpy's is the same ol' same. I'd like to try jigging. It'd be cool to land a salmon on the yak. I try not to keep any Mokelumne fish though. Those fish are going to have a tough enough time getting up to the hatchery as it is.

There are a lot of striper, LMB, SMB, cats and perch right around there. Watched a group in a small bout pull about 20 bluegill in 10 minutes. Just chilling under some trees. Young guy was strumming a guitar while, grandma, grandpa, pops and uncle were nailing the bluegill. He wasn't half bad!

One day when the wind is light I want to try to get around Dead horse and fish the west and north sides. Haven't made it that far yet.
