So I've got a new (turned on a few times) Anker Astro Pro2 battery that I was going to use for my Garmin 53dv fish finder / gps, however, I found out that the battery output is max 1.5 amps at 12v. For reference, the Lowrance Elite-5 chirp only draws 1.1 amps (thanks Garmin) so this battery will not work. I just ordered the older model which has a higher output.

Anyways, this unit should work great for all other 3, 4 and 5" fish finders that draw 1.5 amps or less. Many guys use this exact model with great success. Unfortunately, I think I'm the first to try (publicly, at least) and find out it won't work.

$80 + tax new from Amazon, I'm asking $70. I'm in Chico for reference, but could ship for a few bucks more. Comes with mesh bag, charging plug, and both accessory cables - everything it came with in original box. I tossed the box already, but who needs that?

Thanks for looking.

And I just bought a new battery today.   :smt012

I can't believe your FF uses so much power.  I was using a Lowrance HDS and I don;t think it drew that much.

P.S. - You should make a trip up to Almanor this weekend, a couple of us will be fishing up there.  Shoot me a PM if interested.

Garmin has long been known to be power cows.

Yeah - they draw 2.25 amps max. Listening to the transducer when it first turns on, it's spinning up pretty fast. It then settles to a normal rhythm. I suspect it peaks during bootup and then calms down after 15 seconds or so. Curious to see how long I can run it on a single charge...
