San Pablo Reservoir - January 1, 2007

COMMENTS:

We are closed for the 2006 season.
We will reopen February 16, 2007.
Thank you for a good 2006 season and we look forward
to seeing you again next year.
2006 was a good fishing season for San Pablo. The season's largest trout honor goes to Kyle Burrows of Concord at 18 pounds. The season's largest catfish was landed by Mr. James Liu of El Sobrante. It weighed in at 24.3 pounds. "Fish Chris" brought in a nice bass at a 11.8 pounds.

In 2006 we saw more and more kayak rentals.  A kayak is a beautiful way to see the reservoir and its habitat up close.  EBMUD and UPC provided kayak clinics for anyone interested. There were Family Fishing days that were a big success and included boating and hiking tours. Fishing and holiday activities were provided for children and we look forward to doing some more of these events next year.

The cafe will open in February 2007 as well. Ready-to-go items will be available from Monday - Friday. The grill will be open Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. We look forward to seeing all of you next year. Thank you for making the 2006 season a memorable one.

They have some brand new hobies for rent, they had 2 mirage outbacks, but 1 of the mirage drives is lies in Davy Jones Locker under the Marina, and because it's a resorvior, they can't go get it :smt009...

I think the biggest tell tail sign is that 970 mark on members.   I joined up last year about this time and I think it was about mid 600's, looks like we are growing by 1 to 4 members a day

Should be a interesting year with a whole bunch of new surprises..........I love this Sport!!!!!! :smt003..................Danglin

Just curious, but why is that?  I'd think that a scuba diver with a big light would have a decent chance at finding the drive, assuming they know more or less where it sunk.

Also want to thank Allen Bushnell for converting a lot of his clients (through his guide gusiness) and also spending time at the shows, seminars and expos to spread the interest of our sport  :smt023

The mirage drive on the bottom of san pablo stays because EBMUD says " no body contact with the water " even though a scuba diver would be encapsulated, it's still "no!"

More goverment work in action :smt011................Danglin

I don't get this place at all.  Cuz the above rule, no float tubes, which really pissed me off back in the day when I tubed.  Now, they're willing to say "no body contact" yet rent yaks to people who will undoubtedly dangle their legs overboard, etc?  Doesn't make much sense to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the yak access.  Now that I know that's the case, I'm gonna hit the place up cuz it's a hell of a fishery.
