Hey All,

Should have stayed in bed this morning.  The eldest daughter just got over a stomach flu, and I do believe she gave it to me.  I got half way down to San Rafael, felt like crap, but kept going anyway.  Bought bait at KF's, parked at Bullhead, froze for about five minutes while I decided if I really felt good enough to go (like I'm going to go home now), then paddled out.  I got half way to the honey hole and decided that was far enough... was really starting to worry about throwing up... at least it was calm.  Anyway, threw out the anchor and sat for an hour.  Caught myself a couple bullheads, and had one serious bite.  Went to set the hook and got that great, solid stop... you know what I mean... when the rod bends all the way to the handle and just stops mid-swing like you're pulling that hook into a brick wall.  STURGEON.  Not sure what happened after that... he headed straight for me and while I was fumbling around with the drag on the new Saltiga (first time user), he popped.  Oh well, easy come easy go.  That was it... then I HAD to come in... on the water for an hour and a half.  At least I made it home without losing the cookies.

The Saltiga 30 and Shimano Talavera MH is overkill for sturgeon, but I had fun playing with it anyway.  Not sure I like the drag on the Saltiga.
