Benicia Carquinez Strait Salmon/striper

Went trolling along Carquinez Straitv(Benicia) for salmon/Striper today and sad to say I got skunk! There's lot of noise registering in my finder...got few bitters all undersized Striper...ooh got my Elite 4 Chirp finally showing fish. Don't know how I got it working..I played around while I'm out there. Anyway anybody have some luck around this area? How? What method,/ lure.

If your soaking bait grass shrimp is the bait too use right now.

 I soaked bait all around this area for 20+years, I got bored shore fishing that's why I'm into kayak now.

Plenty of salmon flying right by benicia. Buddy of mine spent all day at the state park and had salmon rolling everywhere, but everyone got skunked except for the seals. The seals kept coming in the shallows to snatch salmon and thrash them back out in the main.

I throw spinners for salmon from the state park shore. You can get them at benicia's bait shop.
