I only asked about posting spot info because I thought we were a bunch of similar minded folks and part of learning was to share information.  Some of the species I may try for once a year or so, so not going to overwhelm any of your spots.

So many times I have given or been given info on certain hot spots.  Just knowing when to go may increase the chances but as many know it will not guarantee you catch something.

I still appreciate tips and will share when appropriate. I just don't want to offend folks on NCKA who think someone posted on some info that should have been quiet.  So unless folks ask for tips I started posting less info that could bring high numbers of non NCKA folks around.  I have been posting in members only so may cut back on a few who take info but don't share it.  But if all the NCKA folks showed up we could all still have a good time.

Back in the day the fish sniffer was the main reference.  Not anymore with instant information.  But good to know some put out crap info just to make folks go to the wrong area so they may have less in the area they like.

End thread jack.

For the most part I try to never post fishing locations on the internet. Period.  There are a few exceptions that I have posted to the members only fishing reports.

That being said, I am pretty open with my favorite locations.   I will take people to these places but I feel they are special and request that the locations not be posted.  Come to Monterey, send me a PM and we can go down the Coast :smt006

I also see a big difference depending where you live.  Down here in Monterey, lots of the Coast is fished pretty hard.  Up North, you have guys like Clayman who fishes by himself all the time.  There just aren't huge crowds up at his lake.  Now if it was 4 hours closer to the Bay Area, it would be fished out and he would be tight lipped.
