Hooked up with Janice at around 8AM.....the fishing was super slow....there were 3 boats that were trolling along with Janice and myself and I did not see any fish caught :smt011 Still, the weather was very nice - over cast and no wind at all. Water clarity was very clear despite of rain during the past few days. I managed to convice 3 LMB to bite (all released). Got one jigging a cast master in 30 ft and the other two was caught trolling a shadrap right along a steep deep water bank. Janice got no love trolling but got to work out the kinks of her new Cobra Marauder :smt007

I was almost ready to break down and drift with powerbait but decided to stick with the lures -IMO:  just can't compare the feeling of landing fish with lures (trolled or casting) over powerbait  :smt002

Right on Joel! Will probably hit Shadow Cliffs in a few weeks when they plant some more fish. Never been my favorite place because it is ugly IMO. Kayaking freed me from Powerbait although I still carry some with me.

I hear ya :smt002 I still carry a jar - which I usually use when I park my yak on shore for a lunch break. But because I love to paddle around (rather than just sit still or drift) trolling just gives me the best of both worlds: fishing and paddling for exercise  :smt002
