I'm planning on putting in one last run at some Berryessa kokanee this season before the NFL & NCAA football seasons really get going and the kokes stop biting to get their groove on...

If anyone wants to join me in front of the dam, I'd be more than happy to have the company.
If you've never been koke fishing, but want to try it out, come join in the fun - I've got an extra down rigger that fits scotty mounts & a small cannon ball to lend out (depth finder is a must for this DR). I also have a slew of custom painted & tied hoochies and spinners that I'd be more than willing to let others test out for me...My wife says I have enough gear for 2 people, soooo...

Date: Saturday, August 22, 2015
Where: Lake Berryessa - Markley Cove Marina
Launch: 6 AM

Temperatures are supposed to be in the low 90's with winds SSW @ 12 mph (though it's usually pretty calm during the morning hours).
Markley Cove charges $20 for launching (sometimes its $10 if they're nice)...I usually back down the launch, unload and put-in via one of their covered boat slips - super simple.

I'll likely be loitering around the dam on my kayak early Saturday. I'll be jigging or trolling with the new down rigger setup. I'll say hey if I see you out there.

In. Unless I sleep through my alarm! I've only been fishing for kokes once (at berryessa) and have never caught one. I have the gear (dr, lures, corn, scent) but lack the knowledge. I would love to be able to pick your mind.

Excellent!
The weather looks like it might turn out to be a lovely day *knock on wood* ... 90° & winds in the single digits until mid afternoon. I'll take it.
See you all on the water!

Thanks for posting the hook up and teaching me some stuff!

I couldn't find any kokes, but I did find this guy. My first kayak salmon!

Great meeting you John! Glad you caught the king, no one else seemed to be catching much. I hooked one small rainbow headed back in, but not much else to show for 8 hours of work. You should try koke fishing Berryessa when they're 35 ft under rather than 85+ ft down. The Laketroller DR won't seem so small...

I think I'm hooked on lake trolling now! Tahoe slam next week, and I want to give berryessa another shot soon.

I'm glad I caught that king, I had to make up for my skunk on halibut out at tomales last week!
