I would look at NWKA. Lots of local AK kayakers on there. Maybe do a hook up with some locals.

Where in AK are you going? It is a big place, so lots of different types of fishing.

The Kenai peninsula has some specific regs that vary depending on which section of river you are on, so in certain areas you really have to know your freshwater stuff.
Ocean fishing is similar to NorCal, only bigger :smt003

I'm no expert, but I had bottom fish luck with big Kalins grubs (BIG ones) and for salmon we used all manner of chrome/red spoons. This was on Prince William Sound and down the Kenai to Seward.

When you say "soon", when exactly?  That will determine where and what you fish for.

There are no active kayak fishing guides in Alaska that I know of.  And renting a Hobie may be very difficult.  Might want to check with Alaska Raft and Kayak in Anchorage.  They may have some Hobies for rent.

Check with Kardinal_84 for more info.  He has accounts here and on NWKA.  He's always very helpful and has the lowdown on the South-Central Alaska scene.

Ive heard its a god place.  Some of the Hobie guys used to go up there every year.  Early oct maybe pushing it weather wise.  Should still be some silvers around.  You may want to check if they are even open still as many lodges start buttoning stuff up around that time.
