Mendo 12/31

When I arrived at Mendo Joel had already launched Joe was ready and Chris got there as I was launching, pretty foggy. Joe and I made our way across slowly BSing our way across. Started fishing Crappie cove Joel and Chris got there a few minutes later Joe hooked up pretty quickly then Chris then me and then Mooch all nice fish. I was using my new 8' UL rod and 6lb test what a fight rod was bent from the cork. Pretty good start everybody caught a fish in the first hour. Well that was it Joel and I caught a few LMB and Chris kept getting bit but no hook up. Chris left after a few hours then Joe then Joel I fished for another couple of hours and caught a few more LMB and another nice Striper by Sand Island. After the fog lifted it was FAC all day. Nice way to end a good year.

Sounds like we were on the wrong side of the dam today.  Nice fish.  Any boils??

no boils.....unfortunately But there was baitfish all along crappie cove.

Mooch= a one-day run? DUDE! we need to communicate and share the expenses when doing a "Mendo Run"( we dont have to listen to HEAVY METAL the whole way up)  if you dont want to.......

I hear you Adam - a one day run to Mendo is a back breaker - I'd rather do an overnight trip - maybe next week? I heard that the campsites are free this time of year, but I'll have to double check on that.

Nice fish everyone. Wonder how big a fish Joel has to catch to get a real smile? I will have to head up to Mendo to do some recon for BAM3 maybe over MLK weekend.

Scott - that's just my "game face" ....the smile usually comes after  ....when the adrenaline rush subsides
