santa didn't bring the fish with him, neither did the recent plants of trout.  trolled what is left of steven's creek (way way low) xmas morning for nada.  since is so low i took a tour to check out all the structure and the normally submerged forest on the upstream side of the rez.  spent about an hour picking lures off the now exposed tree-tops like picking berries of bushes.  most of them were rotted plastics and rusted jigs, but came home with a kast-master, jitterbug (real old looking), rooster-tail, crankbait and a couple jigs for my son's tacklebox.  put new hooks on them and good as new!

in 40 feet?

I marked a lot of fish there a couple weeks back.

didn't think to spelunk for old lures! good idea.

Ive been there a couple times in the past few weeks, on shore and on the kayak. I didnt catch anything or see anything caught. But the water is waaayyy low, its pretty cool to see all the regularly under water stuff in the back.
