A buddy and I are planning to hit up Muir Beach on sunday 8/16. Hoping to get some fish, but just being on the water will be nice. It will be the first time in the area for the both of us. Would be helpful to get some pointers or join us out there. I'll be in a yellow OK prowler.

Bring wheels, takes a while to get to the beach

Yes, wheels are needed. It's about 100 yards or so from the parking lot to the beach, then you have the sand to contend with.

I think they are calling for 3-5 feet from the NW @ 9 seconds. That's ok for me at Muir Beach. The southern end of the beach catches more swell, so if you want an easier launch, put in north by the large rock...if you feel like wheeling up the beach. It's a pretty flat, sandy bottom there, especially in the middle. Rocks to the north and the south.

I may be heading out there that afternoon/evening. If I do make it out, I'll be in an urban camo T-13.

Thanks fishcomb and Tamfish. I've read quit a bit about the parking situation and I am now fully prepared for it. I'll definitely be bringing my wheels for the trek.
