2 footer will do. I use a cheap one by Sea Striker that's been going strong for about 8 years. Just have to sharpen it every once in a while.

I just got a cheap aluminum handled 4'. I cut it down to 26", put foam in the handle and then the stock rubber grip back on it. Floats well now.

I left it at 30",  had to grind down plastic handle grip a bit to get it to fit in yack rod holder.
