I have been trading email with H20spider for a while, thought we'd try and get in some bassin' over the holiday.  The forecast wasn't good, but we thought we'd try it anyways.  As it it turned out, the forecast was optimistic.  When we got near the launch we could see a wind swell rolling down the lake with HUGE whitecaps and breaking faces...it was NUTS.  It made a bad day at SPB look like a kiddy pool...not kidding it was crazy.  Warm and inviting...

We knew it was waaaaay to rough windy to fish our planned destination @ Shag Rock, so we decided to hug the shore and fish some sloughs.  We started to second guess that call when Terry's Tarpon started to blow away in the PARKING LOT...Yikes! :confused2:

We went for it anyway.  Terry showed me some secluded by-ways that had great looking structure...but no love.

So we snuck out around the corner to the leeward side of the peninsula and fished a bunch of docks.   Where's Waldo?

Despite endless structure I only had one hook-up, but ended up reeling in just a scale?  :smt017   Pretty terrible weather and fishing, but way better than being bored at the house!  Thanks for the tour and the tackle Terry.

My Glen Haven surf report was 4' faces and damaging docks.  Then I saw it actually breaking at soda bay and realized that we needed to be in wetsuits and surf boats to participate in what ClearLake was interested in today.
We were trapped in the shallows while the bass are hunkered deep. In a season when the painfully slow presentation is key, getting bombed by surf tends foil the plot.   Good conversation while fishing, and mother natures howl, salvaged a fishless day into a adventure.         Thanks Sean
