As someone who watches cameras most of the workday, I wish cams were everywhere!!  99.9% of the time if we see someone up to no good, they have also been seen on camera doing the same shit at one of our other locations.  And it's only a matter of how long til they get caught in the act.  THEN that video of previous incidents helps put them away.  If there are no previous incidents documented the dirtbags usually walk away with a ticket.

Good on you for having a nice relationship with your neighbor.  IMO that's the first and best thing you can do for home security.
