I know that you guys dont really fish for bass but what can I do to catch bass at lake mendo. I dont know what type of lures to take. I'll be up there during the summer so I want to catch some top water fish since I've never caught any on top water. Also would frogs work at all on that lake wouldn't mind catching a few strippers also.

Any standard bass techniques will work.  Since you will be in a yak I would try drop-shotting, it looks like a lot of fun and is super effective, but not topwater.  The lake is kinda whacky and super full this year so who knows how long stripers will go.
