The BassPro in Denver right near the airport has the best fly fishing Dept I've ever seen in a chain store.
Make sure you check it out!

Let me know how your trip goes. I will be going to Keystone for a conference and would like to get some fishing in here and there.

Not sure how far into the mountains you're going but I've fished the Frying Pan outside of Basalt (North of Aspen) around this time of year and did pretty good.  Use very small flies like size #20

I'm no fly fishing expert, but I had a blast catching brown trout near Telluride a few years ago. Grasshopper imitations did the trick for me, but it was later in the summer.

That's about all I've got to offer, other than have a great trip!

If you want to catch something, I would hire a guide. The blue ribbon streams get a lot of pressure and the trout are really smart.

A great place is Decker Canyon below Cheeseman dam. Google directions. As I remember it is about a two mile walk from parking area to the South Platte below the dam. Mixed water. Deep pools, fast riffles. 200-500cfs is good. Use nymph imitations and use small splitshots to get down deep enough. Fished it in the early sixties and caught many 20 inch rainbows and browns. The grade is smaller now but still nice.

Some good stuff, thanks everyone, and Oh, as you can see, I'm now a "Salmon", and not one of those lowly "Sand dabs" anymore. Life is good............
