Auto adjusting brakes, cast weights down to1/8oz

Well, for me, it's a lot simpler.  Magnetic brake for anything 1/2oz. or heavier.  Less than 1/2oz. = Spinning reel. :smt003

I think the price of Wheeleez is completely reasonable. They are made locally in a small shop with great customer service, and they last a LONG time.

Could they be made in China for less money? Probably... But I'd rather support some local Bay Area people.

Plus Wheeleez supports our group through local tournaments like LRC 2014 & (hopefully) LRC 2015!

Looks like they sell the wheels/axle for $145 if you want to build your own cart from that starting point.

i understand.
i guess i still have memories of when i was looking at a paticular rifle scope.
and all the shops wanted 500 or more.
i called the manufactor they said that they dont sell to the public and i would have to go through a dealer.
she then said we sell to them for 160, offer them 180 and see if they bite.
i called a shop and told them the shop down the street would sell to me for 180.
he said he could match it, so i purchased the scope at a 320 savings.

When it comes to casting reels you definitely get what you pay for. For "bass type" reels I exclusively fish Shimano and Abu Garcia, there are a few other comparable brands out there but after working in the industry for almost 10 years I'm sold on those two. If you are throwing larger baits (>1/2oz) Shimano Curados 200s, Citicas (which are cheaper, the cheapest reel id ever buy and I dont make a lot of money) or Abu Revos are great. Both companies sell larger reels, Curado 300 or even Tranx (HUGE, not for bass) or Revo NaCl. And if you want to throw small baits on a baitcaster you cannot beat a Curado 50. I own all of the reels I mentioned and they all WORK, year after year. And if they get too salty and stop working you send them in and Shimano or Abu will either repair or replace. I made the mistake of buying a silver max once to fill up an arsenal of bass rods and will never do it again. For norcal saltwater kayak fishing I love my Abu Revo NaCl and Revo winch for their durability, gear ratio, and heavy duty drag.

These revo inshores are a pretty standard sized reel and are extremely corrosion resistant and relatively easy to clean. Check it out....  http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Abu_Garcia_REVO_Inshore_Generation_3_Casting_Reel/descpage-RVI.html

Note that this is just what I like, I understand that brand loyalty, budget and just overall fishing savvy and ability play a role in every purchase. I've always advocated investing in good gear as it will end up being cheaper in the long run. If you want something to last a couple months a cheaper reel may be for you but I plan on fishing for at least another sixty years :smt002

Also if you ever have trouble picking out a reel you can always just buy one of these

Those are indeed some nice reels.  Probably my favorite all around reel is my Abu 6500C3, which just got a new power handle upgrade.  Following a close second are my two Abu 5500C3's and then comes my Penn Squall 15.  This little silver max is kind of a toy I'm trying out.  Certainly don't plan to use it in saltwater.

As to the speargun, I'm a Rob Allen/Riffe kinda guy.  When I just gotta have a hand full of wood, (yes, I went there...), then it's one of my Riffes, however when I'm serious about killing fish, it's always one of my RA's for sure! :smt002
