insight genises map name ?

insight gen has changed thier web sight and now i cant figure out how
to change the names of my sonar logs.
i used to just hit log sonar and in insight, change the name (example }
chart 01   to something like  MBK.   anybody want to school me.

i thought i could change the name after upload but maybe it was before upload.
my son uploaded the files and there just the generic chart 01 wanted to change them so i know where thier from without vewing them.

except it dumps all under the heading north pacific ocean,
i click on that tab and i have them seperated  mbk   tc     ab  and so on   except i got a few named with chart01
these are merged by where i have launched, if im making any sense by trying to type.

I see what you mean.  You might have to name the recording when you START it, not after.  I had to rename mine to whatever I wanted before the recording started.  May be too late on those but good knowledge for future records.

From what I understand we have never been able to change the name of the logs once they have been uploaded.  He can however name the logs on his unit as he begins recording or he can name them on his computer before uploading them.

As I guessed knew suspected

Looks like the only way (now) is to set the name before you press record ... or maybe it's after you record during the "save".  Either way, it looks like you are SOL on these as far as naming is concerned.

You can say that again. A lot of guys don't take advantage of this simple mapping program. It's gives you a 1' contour of any place you want, show veg and hard bottom and you get that map back within hours. I actually mapped a bunch of GS and the automated system had my map back within 4 hours... 4 gigs of data! It does vary though but usually it send me the email notifying me that my map is ready within the same day. How sweet is that.

I hope to do a few mapping contests, maybe at Albion but definitely at LRC.
