Anybody use a good mount that will work with a rod holder mount? I have a rod holder mount on my kayak that has 4 nuts in a rectangular pattern (probably standard) and I'd like to use these to mount my FF. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have a general Scotty mount.  They make a couple of them, but with limited mobility compared to RAM mounts:  http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/fishing-supplies/fishfinder-mount.htm

You could however get a RAM ball to put in the mount, and then use one of these: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/8785/RAM-Mount-for-Lowrance-Elite-4-and-Mark-4-Fishfinders.html

Or you could go with the RAM base, but it wont match up all 4 holes, probably just two of them.  Not too hard to plug up the extras though.

....or you could make an adapter plate to convert your existing 4-hole pattern to an alternative pattern assuming the holes don't already line-up or interfere with one another.

The stem from these Berkley rod holders fits inside the pivot point in the Lowrance mount and also fit in Scotty mounts. Kind of hard to explain. It keeps the mount pretty low profile. Could take a pic of mine if you're interested.
