Mel is talking about the Navionics Plus (aka Freshest Data) which I have. I showed him the details and better contour maps.

If you have the Navionics Gold, you can upgrade to Plus for $99 per year.

As part of Freshest Data, you can record your sonar readings (when your at TC or OC) and upload that data from your FF To Navionics. Your data will then be part of the contour maps from then on and help increase the detail and accuracy of the updates.

    Unlike Navionics Gold and Platinum Plus cartography purchased from a Navionics dealer, the Navionics Gold and HotMaps Premium cartography packaged with OEM chartpotting products is not supported by the Navionics Freshest Data program.  Those preferring cartography which may be updated via the Navionics Freshest Data program are advised to purchase the OEM chartplotting product without the cartography option, and then separately purchase the Navionics Gold and/or HotMaps chart card(s) from a Navionics for the waters to be navigated.  Should an owner of Navionics Gold and HotMaps Premium cartography packaged with an OEM chartpotting product attempt to update his chart card with Freshest Data, then the following message will be displayed:



    The Navionics Silver cartography packaged with OEM chartpotting products is likewise not supported by the Navionics Freshest Data program.  However unlike the Navionics Gold and HotMaps Premium cartography packaged with OEM chartpotting products, Navionics may be contacted to upgrade Navionics Silver cartography to Gold for a fee.

Never used.  I am not sure what its worth, but I'm open to offers and can bring with me to Shelter Cove this weekend.
