Monterey surf stripers again! 05-24

Finally got permission from the wife and kids to hit the beach for an early evening session of pounding the sand. It's my first evening trip this year. At 1700 hrs, While walking down the dune to the beach, see one of my friends hooked up in the distance.

Within 5 minutes, I'm on. Lose it in the suds after a quick tug of war. Looked about 10 pds. Half hour later, got 2 nice fish, flopping in the sand. 10-12 pders.

Highlight of the day was watching a fish busting on the pencil popper at least 3 times. Was doing summersaults, attacking the lure. Never got him hooked though.
