Just wondering if anyone is going to Tomales to Crab?  I remember it being pretty good some years ago.

Be careful where you leave your traps, some friends of mine lost theirs when the tide came in & burried it in sand.  :smt005

I was wondering the same thing about Tomales...I also hear that there is great halibut fishing there.

Just wondering if anyone is going to Tomales to Crab?  I remember it being pretty good some years ago.

I put a trap in Tomales about 3 years ago, on two different occasions around Hog island for 5 hours or so. All I got were rock crabs. I suggest you try in the areas that are over 60 feet, because the shallow sand bars turned up zilch (I was about 40 feet).

Thanks yeah, i didnt have much luck my last trip out. Usually just crab the ocean side jetty at Doran.   Butts in Tomales?  :smt005  yeah they can be there, but luck and time are your only friends!

Ditto re rock crabs - but I prefer their taste!
