Do we have a write up on how to properly use a jig?  Like a "how to jig in a kayak" type of thing.

Just asking as we all have our own method, but to get newbies onto the next step and to try something other than live bait.

Probably depends on what you're targetting. I'm far from a expert, but I just drop mine to the bottom and do a half-rod swing upwards and let it drop. Once in a while I bang it on the bottom to get their attention.

If I mark rockfish on my FF, Ill bring it down to their depth and do smaller swings up and down.
Thresher in avatar and Soupfin Shark in signature both caught and pic taken by me.

I use the same method. If I am not marking fish. I will jig through the whole column. Sometimes it takes a few drift by's to get the depth right. This is a method I used in fresh water. Before I had a FF.
I only fish on days that end with Y
